Kenberma Rainbow Crosswalk

On Thursday, April 29, 2021, the Town of Hull approved Hull Pride's proposal for the installation of a painted rainbow crosswalk across Nantasket Avenue along Kenberma Street. The intention behind the Kenberma Rainbow Crosswalk is threefold: 1) to celebrate the Town of Hull's commitment to inclusion and diversity; 2) to support economic development in the Kenberma Business District area; and 3) to complement beautification efforts of the Town of Hull streetscapes. The multicolored-crosswalk will include the colors of the rainbow (a well-known pride symbol) within a traditional white sidewalk (see attached pictures of proposed design).

The Rainbow Crosswalk has the full endorsement of the Town of Hull Selectboard along with the Hull Economic Development Committee and Hull-Nantasket Chamber of Commerce. Hull Police Chief Dunn stated that the location is "an excellent one, located at a 24-hour-a- day traffic control point/traffic light that causes the flow of traffic to slow naturally. In addition, it is at the beginning of our shopping district [where there is] pedestrian traffic" and therefore good visibility.

The rainbow crosswalk will be fully supported with private contributions. Every penny of your contribution here will go to the cost of striping the rainbow crosswalk.
