Statistics are sobering: 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime, and 1 in 5 will endure a completed or attempted sexual assault. Chances are, someone you know—perhaps even someone in your own family—has been impacted.

At a time when survivors are most vulnerable, access to timely, trauma-informed medical care is essential. These services are not only about treating injuries or preventing infections. They are about documenting trauma, validating a survivor’s experience, and—when needed—providing expert testimony in court.
