Empower Women in Music – Support an All-Women’s Band for MATC’s Sis(Her) Luncheon! 🎶

This is more than just a performance—it’s a statement.

On March 21st, 2025, MATC’s Sis(Her) Luncheon will celebrate influential women in the community, highlighting leadership, resilience, and empowerment. To bring this vision to life, Genisx, (pronounced Genesis) a nonprofit dedicated to connecting individuals to their purpose through Arts and Wellness, is working to hire an all-women’s band to perform at the event. This performance will not only showcase the incredible talent of women in music but also inspire the next generation of artists and leaders.

Despite their immense contributions to the industry, women remain vastly underrepresented in music. According to a USC Annenberg study, studies show that Black women represent just 1.7% in the live music industry. By sponsoring a Black female band, you are helping to economically empower a group of people who have and continue to be outnumbered by their male counterparts.

💡 Here’s how to help!
Genisx is seeking to raise $3,000 by March 21 to cover:
🎶 Performance fees – Ensuring fair pay for talented women musicians
🎼 Rehearsals – Supporting preparation for a powerful and polished set
🚗 Travel expenses – Covering costs so every musician can be there to share their gift

This initiative goes beyond music—it’s about representation, opportunity, and creating a space where women’s voices are heard, both on stage and beyond.
