Meet Kevin

Kevin has been incarcerated for 16 years. When he first heard about the Father-Daughter Dance, he says he cried. “I’ve missed so many daddy-daughter events. This opportunity, even incarcerated, means the world.”

His daughters live in Oklahoma, so most of their relationship has been through daily phone calls and pictures. Still, he’s remained a steady presence in their lives. “My daughters are everything — besides God, they’re the most important thing in my world. If I was created for one thing, it was to be a daddy.”

For Kevin, wearing a suit inside Angola feels like freedom. “It’s like I’m not even in prison in that moment. I’m just a dad at a school dance with my girls,” he says. More than anything, he hopes his daughters walk away with memories they’ll never forget — and the reminder that no matter where he is, their father loves them.
