ABOUT OUR PROJECT

My name is Adi, and I reside in San Francisco with my husband, Yonatan, and our three children. I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my family, who endured the massacre on October 7 in Kibbutz Kfar Aza (full surviving story below). Although they survived, they have been left with nothing — their home, their community, everything is gone. The trauma runs deep. We humbly ask for your support in bringing them to San Francisco for a few weeks around Passover. My father, Shlomo, my sister Tal, her husband Roy, and their children Yahav (7), Reef (5), and Libi (5 months) need this time to breathe, to feel our support and love, and to experience Passover together as a united family. Any contribution you can make would mean the world to us.

THE HADAR FAMILY SURVIVOR STORY

When the surprise attack began, my sister's family sought refuge in a bomb shelter in their home and hid there for 10 hours while the terrorists were shooting and bombing all around and trying to open the door. Throughout it all, Roy held the door shut, and my sister calmed the kids, who were hungry and shocked. At that point, the Hamas attackers set the house on fire in hopes of killing my family inside. After enduring agonizing hours of sweltering heat, smoke began to seep into their shelter. In a courageous, split-second decision, my family made a daring, barefoot escape from the window and miraculously found an Israeli jeep that saved them. As they ran, my nephew asked his mother, "Ima (mom), is this the end of the world?"
