Again this year, as Luke's siblings we have decided to organize a fundraiser to honor his upcoming 19th birthday in heaven, which falls on February 22nd. Our goal is to raise money for Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Valhalla, New York, where Luke received exceptional care. Luke was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in July of 2017. He fought a long and hard battle before his passing in January of 2019.

In September 2017 and January 2018, Luke had extensive orthopedic surgery on both of his legs to remove tumors and partial prosthetic implants were put in place. After each of these surgeries Luke was transferred to Blythedale Children's Hospital for his rehabilitative recovery.

The unwavering care, support, and compassion Blythdale Children’s Hospital provided to Luke and our family was exceptional and this fundraiser is our way of expressing our deep gratitude. Specifically, the Child Life Office and Therapeutic Support Services provided Luke and our family with everything that was needed to cope and heal in a medical environment. The hardworking, caring, and dedicated specialists always went above and beyond, especially for Luke.

In his memory, we aim to raise funds to support the Hospital’s vital work, ensuring that other children and their families receive the same level of outstanding care that touched our lives. We invite everyone to join us in honoring Luke’s memory by contributing to this meaningful cause, creating a lasting impact on the lives of young patients at Blythedale Children’s Hospital.
