We are so incredibly excited to share our first major fundraising event with you all!

Harry's Hidden Acres Sanctuary (a 501(c)(3) charitable organization) has secured a generous donor who is making a challenge to all our supporters and followers.

If we can collect $20,000 through all new fundraising efforts by the end of December, our donor will match that amount. That's an incredible offer for us and will help us tremendously!

You all know that horses are expensive. They eat a lot, right? Especially horses like ours at Harry's Hidden Acres. We've got draft horses (big eaters!) and horses who require special feed for their rehabilitation because of age or because they've been malnourished. And, in addition, we've got Freddie. 😉 Freddie wears custom 3D printed shoes to support his back legs, which are deformed due to a birth defect created through bad breeding practices. These shoes are expensive and Freddie manages to lose them regularly!

In our short time as an official organization we have successfully rehabilitated and adopted 3 mini horses, and are rehabilitating 4 more who were severely malnourished. We're working with them now to see if they are candidates for adoption or if they must remain with us as sanctuary animals. We've rehabilitated two sheep and adopted them to a forever home. We've also re-homed abandoned dogs, kittens, and even chickens.

Harry's Hidden Acres Sanctuary provides a safe place for abused, neglected, medically needy or abandoned animals. Even though we are officially a young organization, our experience in animal rescue runs deep. We also provide children with special needs with the opportunity to meet our wonderful animals and expand their world through these special interactions.

Harry's was named in honor of the amazing quarter horse that our founder, Emily, rescued from an abandoned pasture. Harry and Emily shared many grand adventures and Harry lived out his life as a beloved member of Emily's family.

Harry's rescue began a multiple year collaboration with another local rescue that ultimately evolved into Harry's Hidden Acres Sanctuary. Freddie's rescue and his need for intensive rehabilitation care was the turning point that solidified our special mission to rescue medically needy animals and to rehabilitate and rehome them whenever possible.
