Help Hassan & His Family Evacuate Gaza

From Hassan:

"Hello, I am Hassan from Gaza, Palestine, and my big brother Muhammad needs psychological treatment because he suffers from psychological stress. We live with my mother and we do not have money. My sister is a nurse and needs to travel to complete her studies. Since 200 days of devastating war, I and my family of 6 people are living in a nightmare because we cannot escape from war. We suffer from fear, hunger and cold. My family and I want to evacuate Gaza so we can have a chance to survive and start our lives somewhere safer than here, but evacuation travel fees through the Rafah crossing from Gaza to Egypt cost thousands of dollars per person crossing the border (knowing that the financial burden is huge!!). Here we are dying, starving every day, living in tents and under bombing. Please help me.

The family, now residing near the border, is seeking to escape Gaza and return to safety, but current barriers make this almost impossible. With widespread border closures, Egypt currently requires approximately $5,500 per person to obtain permission to leave. With himself and nine dependents, that puts the cost of obtaining the permits alone at $55,000, plus potential administrative fees and other travel fees to reach safety in Egypt. Full details of final costs will be recorded and shared on the Gofundme page in an update (as are the other pages).

Hassan and his family's ultimate goal is to eventually be evacuated from Egypt to Tirana, Albania (where he holds permanent residency). The family has applied for an evacuation from the Albanian government but has not received any response yet for the past three months. Despite the right to live outside Gaza, the family needs this fee to cross the border to make arrangements to travel to Albania.

Fees like this are impossible for most Gazans in normal times, especially now – Hassan and his family are financially devastated, with their precious home destroyed, their jobs halted, and everyone displaced and living on aid. The family is therefore appealing to strangers to help them reach safety and rebuild. Your support is greatly appreciated, God bless you."
