I never set out to change the foster care system—I always wanted a big family and foster care was a way to have more kids in my home, and being able to support their biological families has been an added blessing.  

Seven years ago, when my husband and I opened our home to our first foster placement, I had no idea that decision would lead us to care for over 90 children.  

Through this journey, I have experienced firsthand how foster parents are left to navigate challenges without resources, respite, or mentorship. I emphathsized with the revolving door of burnt out caseworkers. My heart ached for the growing number of children entering foster care—many due to circumstances beyond their control. I longed to do more, not just for the children, but also for their families, who often lacked the support and resources needed to keep their homes together.

Witnessing the deep needs and challenges surrounding foster care led to the birth of Haven Hills Foster Care Community. Through Haven Hills, we are working to fill the gaps in services by providing a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment for foster families and the biological families they serve.
