Help Us Keep Children Clean, Dry and Healthy

In September 2022, the Diaper Bank of the Inland Empire reached a milestone, distributing 500,000 diapers to Inland Empire families in the past three years. In the first year, 30-40 families were being assisted monthly. Currently, through direct distribution and community partners, the diaper bank is distributing 15,000 diapers monthly to 300-350 families. Our goal is to increase that number to 500 families by May 2023.

An extra supply of diapers for families experiencing diaper need reduces the risk of preventable diseases such as diaper dermatitis which can lead to serious bacterial infections and helps prevent urinary tract infections leading to fever, vomiting, jaundice, and even renal failure. In California, there are approximately 40,000 emergency room visits yearly for diaper-related illnesses. #healthychildren

Three years ago when the Junior League of Riverside participated in a Diaper Drive for a local community organization, our membership had never heard of diaper need. Through research, education, and planning, we developed a program to combat Diaper Need at a local level. Our program has grown to serve two counties assisting over 350 families monthly. Without the community support of our volunteers and donors, this essential program could not continue to expand to serve more families.
