Developing a Heartset for Restorative Circle Conference Facilitation

This course will meet on Zoom, every Thursday from January 25 - March 28, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST.

A “heartset" is an integrated consciousness - a "heart-full" way of being in the world that centers curiosity and compassion and invites and welcomes vulnerability. During these 10 weeks we will be exploring the heartset, understandings, and skills necessary for facilitation of restorative work in conversations and circles. The weeks will be split into two areas of focus.

  • The first five weeks will be spent developing an understanding of nonviolent/compassionate communication, becoming familiar with feelings, needs, and the language of nonviolence, and gaining skill in listening and communication. We will all deepen our understandings and skills in the arts and practices of attunement, deep listening, resonance, and compassionate communication in order to engage in meaningful dialogue with ourselves and other humans.

  • These crucial areas of knowledge and practice will prepare participants for the following five weeks, which will focus on learning and experiencing the restorative circle conferencing process. These five weeks will explore in detail the process of facilitating a circle, from the initial contact to the end of the circle and beyond.

We invite you to bring your questions, experiences, concerns, and openness into this virtual space. We learn as much from the participants in our courses as you do from us, and every individual shapes the trajectory of this and future training series.

The Zoom link and reading materials/resources will be provided before start of course. We look forward to learning with you!
