Hearts in Motion – A Lighted Walk for Mental Health

Join Us for a Walk of Hope, Healing, and Community

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to honor those who face darkness—whether through personal mental health challenges, supporting a loved one, grieving a loss, or recovering from trauma. Hearts in Motion is a heartfelt opportunity to come together as a community, share in collective healing, and shine a light on the journey from darkness to hope.

This special event is also a fundraiser for Alice’s House and JPH, two organizations deeply committed to fostering wellness, healing, and transformation. Donations will be shared equally between JPH and Alice's House.

Please feel free to bring battery operated candles or lanterns to walk with. You may join one of the open art studios at JPH to help make lanterns and signs for the walk. The open art studios will be held on:

Thursdays May 15th and 22nd from 12PM-1:30PM or
Tuesday May 22nd from 6PM-7:30PM

Event Overview:

Participants will meet on Humarock Beach in front of Alice's House at 7pm for a welcome talk and gathering. At 7:30 the group will walk together to JPH’s retreat property, traveling through the scenic Ferry Hill neighborhood, which includes hills and varied terrain. As we walk just at sunset along a lighted path, we will reflect on the resilience of the human spirit and the power of community.

The walk will culminate in a serene candlelit meditation in the JPH Barn, offering a moment of connection, remembrance, and renewal.

Together, we will honor those who are navigating the challenges of mental health and loss while raising awareness for the transformative work of Alice’s House and JPH.

🏁 Ending Point: JPH Barn

Parking & Transportation:

🚗 Parking for walk available at St. Theresa’s Chapel, within walking distance of Humarock. There is NO PARKING Available at Alice's House
🚌 A shuttle will be available from JPH back to the parking area after the event.
