Josh's Memorial Fund

Josh Boone z”l was more than a soldier.
He was a friend, a brother, a mentor, and a Lone Soldier who gave everything he had to the State of Israel and the Jewish People.

Josh served relentlessly; 748 days in reserve duty across multiple combat zones, yet when Josh tragically passed away, the system failed him.

This fundraising effort exists to right some of the many wrongs that this case exposed; both in Josh’s specific situation and in the system as a whole.

Not just for Josh. Not just for Lone Soldiers.

But for every single IDF hero who fights for Israel.

What Your Donation Supports

1. Memorializing Josh – The Way He Deserves

We are committed to honoring Josh’s life and service properly with the Shloshim Memorial Event. Support is needed mainly for the logistics required to bring his family to Israel.

2. Legal Recognition of Josh as a Fallen Soldier

We are pursuing formal legal recognition of Josh as a fallen soldier- a process that requires professional legal representation, court filings, and sustained advocacy.

3. The Josh Boone Law – Protecting our Soldiers

Josh’s case exposed a dangerous gap in Israel’s legal and bureaucratic system:

A gray area between reserve duty and civilian life where soldiers can fall through the cracks.

We are working to pass The Josh Boone Law, which will:

  • Clarify legal responsibility during the transition from service/reserve duty to civilian life

  • Create automatic recognition mechanisms

  • Establish clear, fast bureaucratic protocols that can be followed in times of crisis

  • Protect soldiers suffering from PTSD

  • Prevent future families from facing the same uncertainty and injustice

This law will not apply only to Lone Soldiers.
It will protect all IDF soldiers navigating the aftermath of service and trauma.

Why This Matters

Josh gave everything for us and this country.
Now it’s our responsibility to make sure his legacy leads to real change.

Your donation helps ensure Josh is honored properly, his service and sacrifice are recognized, and that our soldiers are protected- forever.

Thank You

With profound heartbreak, we share the news of the passing of a great warrior, Joshua Boone ז״ל, a true hero of Israel.

Joshua was an exemplary soldier whose life was devoted entirely to the defense of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. An Oleh from Boise, Idaho, he chose Israel not out of obligation, but out of deep belief and love. He served with distinction as a sniper in the Golani Brigade, continued protecting Jewish life as a security officer in Jerusalem’s Old City and abroad, and when war broke out on October 7, he immediately entered the reserves, serving an extraordinary 748 days across multiple units and multiple fronts, wherever he was needed most.

Joshua gave his body and soul to Israel. He carried the unbearable weight of prolonged combat, and like too many of our heroes, paid a terrible personal price.

At this painful time, we are raising funds to support Joshua’s family and ensure he is honored with the dignity he deserves. Donations will be used to cover urgent logistical needs, including flights and accommodations for his family, funeral and shiva arrangements, and other necessary expenses surrounding his passing.

Once these immediate needs are met, the remaining funds will be dedicated to establishing a memorial fund in Joshua’s name. This fund will support meaningful projects that preserve his legacy, tell his story, and ensure that the people of Israel — and the Jewish world — remember his courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to the State of Israel.

Joshua lived as a soldier of Israel. He must be remembered as one.

May his memory be a blessing.
