Being part of the BirdsCaribbean Board of Directors provides an exciting opportunity to identify, evaluate, and implement appropriate initiatives to protect Caribbean birds and their habitats. Our organization works diligently toward this mission by promoting sound science, conservation actions, and education.
We emphasize on providing capacity-building opportunities to achieve these ambitious goals because we need to engage the public and an extensive network of collaborators.
It's remarkable to witness the many accomplishments of this small organization. The commitment and motivation of our community play a crucial role in enhancing these outcomes!
This year alone, we funded 10 conservation and research projects, and provided in-person training workshops for more than 90 individuals from 20 islands. Additionally, we created numerous educational resources for outreach activities such as the annual Caribbean Endemic Bird Festival and the regional landbird, waterbird and seabird monitoring efforts led by our members and partners.
Bird species bring joy and contribute to our well-being with their beautiful displays. More importantly, they serve as natural indicators of healthy ecosystems. With over 700 species in the Caribbean region that we aim to save, we invite you to make a positive impact by sponsoring our work.
Support our fundraising campaign, and you will truly help Caribbean birds soar in 2024!
