Living Stories & Documentary First, the team behind The Girl Who Wore Freedom, have been asked to assist 102-year-old World War II veteran Ceo Bauer—one of the stars of the film—in making a momentous return to France.

As the guest of honor at "A Rendez-vous with History" in the Loir Valley on May 30-31, Ceo will visit a region rarely seen by veterans, making this an extraordinary and deeply meaningful occasion for both him and the town.

On June 2nd, Ceo will arrive in Normandy, staying in Grand Camp Maisy, to attend and participate in the DDay81 liberation commemoration ceremonies.

On June 5th, Ceo will attend a remembrance of his high school buddy, Howard Berry, at the church in St. Lo.

His journey continues with a two-day tribute in Trévières, where on June 7, he will participate in a screening of The Girl Who Wore Freedom, followed by a Q&A, as well as the dedication of a plaque honoring his wounded battle buddy, Steve Bodner. On June 9th, Ceo will play a pivotal role in the town’s liberation ceremony.

Beyond these significant tributes, Ceo will also visit local students, participate in the international ceremony at Utah Beach, and be honored at events in Carentan and Angoville-au-Plain.

Documentary First is asking for $12,500 in donations to Living Stories in order to support Ceo’s return to France to participate in celebrations from May 29th thru June 12th of 2025.
