About Friends of Firefighters:

Friends of Firefighters is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization providing independent, confidential and free mental health and wellness services to active and retired FDNY firefighters and their family members. Established after the tragic events of September 11, 2001 and operating out of a historic, decommissioned firehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Friends of Firefighters is committed to reducing the stigma associated with mental health and serving the firefighters who risk their lives every day to protect our neighborhoods in their time of need. The organization’s free programs ranging from counseling and acupuncture to peer support and more, serve thousands of NYC firefighters annually.
