I lost my mother to a sudden diagnosis and unsuccessful surgery for brain cancer (glioblastoma). Through the painful months leading to her passing in 2010, I witnessed first-hand the emotional and financial toll the undiscriminating disease took on her, as well as those around her – both patients and family. Since that time, and in her memory, I have volunteered and worked with Cancer Care Services to help raise funds and awareness for their mission to provide hope and help to area patients and their families.
In the fall of 2013, several local advocates started their own non-profit with the express mission to leverage their contacts and talents to help raise funds and awareness for CCS. Later named Connecting for Conquerors (C4C), this 501c3 has raised over $100,000 for CCS and held numerous fund and awareness-raising events.
I've seen the work CCS does and the great people behind the scenes dedicated to their mission. I hope you will join me in supporting this local gem that has a global impact.
