Like many of you, I have many friends and family that have been affected by cancer. My mother died from cancer several years ago, and very recently I lost my oldest brother to cancer as well.
Neither of my family members lived in Tarrant County, so Cancer Care Services was not an option for them. I often wished that the two of them had access to the staff and services (emphasis on the staff) at Cancer Care, especially when they initially received their diagnosis. I know CCS would have been a great resource with their initial questions, provided individual counseling if necessary, and helped them understand the overwhelming financial maze that is part of the process. Cancer Care not only supports the cancer patients, they also provide coping skills to caregivers, and even help survivors readjust to their new normal.
I have supported Cancer Care for several years, currently as a Board and a Legacy of Hope Giving Society member, and would like you to get to know this outstanding organization as well. Please join me for this virtual fundraiser on October 21st to learn about and hopefully share my passion for Cancer Care Services.
