I am a cancer survivor. At the age of 36, I was diagnosed with an unusual form of leukemia. Our daughter was only 5 years old and because my husband had to travel for his job, my parents came to live with us to help with my care and the care of our daughter.
When I came to the first Cancer Care Services fund raising luncheon, it was many years after my victory over leukemia. I assumed that this organization was here to help cancer patients, but I was truly surprised to learn that they provide help for cancer caregivers and cancer survivors. If we had known about their services, I’m sure my parents would have joined the class for caregivers. So, I was immediately ready to become a donor and supporter of Cancer Care Services. Ever since that day, I have been a dedicated volunteer and supporter of this awesome organization.
