The JES PTO works hard to enhance and support the educational experience at Jasper Elementary School. This Giving Tuesday we want to go farther and help promote our after school clubs and extra curricular activities. Three programs are showcased below. JES teachers pioneered these clubs and volunteer their time after school to ensure that they thrive. Your support today will help offset the cost of these programs by providing snacks and miscellaneous materials. Help lead the way for future enrichment activities for our students. Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code (a nonprofit organization) is an after school program that supports girls in the STEAM subjects. Our goal is to close the gender gap in technology and computer science, while inspiring more girls to become computer scientists and engineers. This free program is available to girls in grades 3-5. The club has been a part of the school since 2019 and each year it keeps growing each year!

Esports Club

Esports at JES is a club where 5th grade students practice implementing 21st century skills with others while also playing video games. Esports is a growing phenomenon around the world that has almost reached the heights of "regular" sports. The goal of the club is to help students interact appropriately with others while using skills and strategies to communicate, collaborate, and think critically about their work. On the outside it just looks like kids playing video games but it is so much more. Did you know that, on average, 40% of students in esports clubs around the country are NOT part of ANY other extracurricular clubs or teams? Because of Esports at JES, JMS has also started an esports group! Money donated would go to snacks for the students as well as other needs here and there to help the playing experience.

Wildcat Workshops

Wildcat Workshops is an after-school program for fifth-grade boys. Wildcat Workshops' mission is to provide experiences to boys that develop skills they will use in their lives and expose them to potential careers. Wildcat Workshops accomplishes this by taking field trips to various businesses and hosting speakers that can teach boys. Workshops have included visits to LAN Construction, cooking lessons provided by Mrs. Ondiek at the Middle School, tying ties, how to change a tire, and fishing.
