Help Protect Georgia Families and Midwives!

Georgia is in a desperate situation. Our mothers and babies are dying. There are not enough providers to take care of everyone and our communities are suffering as a result. Communities that integrate midwives have healthier families overall. We need as many hands on deck as we can, so we are asking for licensure for as many types of midwives as possible.

Imagine a day when midwives can practice without fear of being forced to stop. Imagine a day when your insurance can pay for your midwifery care. A day when finding a midwife is easy for every woman that wants one. Getting comprehensive care (even pap smears!) from your chosen midwife provider when and how you need it. We are working towards that reality and the first step is getting midwives licensed in the state of Georgia.

Without licensure:

-midwives are at risk of prosecution

-student midwives no longer have access to federally funded, accredited midwifery schools

-midwives do not have legal access to vital supplies and emergency  medication that every birthing woman deserves

To gain licensure we must:

-fight against large physician and hospital lobbying associations

-educate the Georgia General Assembly on what midwives can do

-never give up

Make a bold statement today to stand with your midwives, the future midwives, and all of the daughters who will give birth!

Will you join us in our fight to protect Georgia families and midwives?

Please give to protect the future availability of midwives to protect women’s autonomous choices! This money will be directly used for lobbying at the Georgia capitol in favor of a licensure bill for midwives.
