Help Us Support Our Combat Veterans and Special Operators

For nearly a decade, we have proudly hosted combat-wounded veterans and, more recently, active-duty special operators for a one-week deer hunt on our 1400-acre property in Northern Michigan. This November, we will celebrate our 10th year of providing this unique and healing experience.

Our Mission

Through a strong partnership with non-profits like Operation Second Chance and the Combat Control Foundation, we cover all travel expenses, hunting licenses, game processing, lodging, food, and beverages for the week. Our property is equipped with several ground blinds in prime deer hunting spots, and experienced guides accompany each hunter into the field, ensuring a safe and rewarding hunt.

Why We Do It

My wife and I took over this beautiful property from my grandparents when my grandfather's health began to decline. As a WWII combat veteran, he instilled in us a deep respect and admiration for those who have served our country. Sharing this land with his brothers-in-arms and those who continue to protect our freedoms feels like the perfect tribute to his legacy. With 34 years in uniform, including eight years on active duty as a Navy Corpsman, and my current role as a LT/Paramedic in the fire service, supporting our veterans and active-duty personnel is a cause close to my heart.

Our Need

Our current cabin, a modest 3-bedroom, 2-bath, becomes quite crowded during our hunt camps, accommodating both hunters and support personnel. To enhance the comfort and experience of our guests, we are building a standalone bunkhouse that will sleep six and alleviate the overcrowding in the main cabin. This privately owned bunkhouse will ensure we can continue to provide a welcoming and comfortable retreat for years to come. We are seeking to raise $65,000 to $100,000 to complete this project.
