Pathways To Healing
Every mother deserves to be heard. Every baby deserves to be remembered.
This Black Maternal Health Week (April 11–17), I’m launching a fundraiser in honor of my son, lovingly known as Baby Phat, who was stillborn at 38 weeks. His life — and his memory — inspired the birth of Invisible Footprints, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families through pregnancy and infant loss.
Black women are 3 to 4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes, and Black babies are more than twice as likely to be stillborn. These are not just numbers — they’re families like mine. They’re stories like Baby Phat’s. And they deserve to be seen, heard, and held.
Your donation will help us:
- Provide compassionate bereavement care and support to grieving families
- Raise awareness about the urgent need for equity in Black maternal and infant health
Give in honor. Give in memory. Give so no parent walks this path alone.
With love and gratitude,
Jaclyn Townsend
