Indians for Collective Action (ICA) is a San Francisco Bay Area nonprofit group. Since its inception in 1968, ICA has nurtured social activists, spawned many initiatives, supported innovative community-led development projects in over 20 states of India, and distributed over $25 million. This will be an inspiring evening dedicated to a cause that touches lives and transforms futures — “Water for Life, Hope for Communities – Creating Opportunities for Growth, Equity, and Sustainability.”

Access to clean and safe water is not just a basic need — it’s the foundation for health, education, and economic development. These initiatives aim to provide sustainable water solutions that empower underserved communities, reduce inequalities, and open doors to a more just and equitable future.

This year we will be honoring an exceptional person from Gujarat, India Ms. Mittal Patel, founder of Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM). Ms. Patel has dedicated her entire life building underserved communities, empwering women, and preserving and creating water bodies along with massive plantation in neighboring towns of Ahmedabad. For her dedication and work, she has received Nari Shakti Puraskar.
