We’re turning 15! 🎉

Fifteen years ago, three UndocuQueer college students in the Inland Empire took a step to create what didn’t exist, a safe space where immigrant youth could gather, organize, and fight for their right to live freely. They knew firsthand the pain of discrimination and limited resources, but instead of accepting the barriers placed before them, they built a movement. Today, the Inland Empire Immigrant Youth Collective (IEIYC) continues that legacy, empowering the next generation through advocacy, leadership, and direct support.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve achieved huge milestones together:

IEIYC founding members staged a sit-in at the Obama for America Campaign office, delivering a 100-page petition with more than 2,000 signatures to stop the deportations of undocumented youth
Three of our female leaders shut down the Adelanto Detention Center operations for a day in a 2013 civil disobedience
Empower 75+ alumni through our flagship, Undocumented Mentorship Academy, equipping immigrant youth with the tools to prioritize their well-being, organize in their community, and navigate pathways to higher education.
Launched the first-ever Immigrant Youth Fellowship in the Inland Empire, providing immigrant youth with paid professional development and hands-on organizing experience with local social justice-based organizations
Recognized by The California Endowment as a youth-led advocacy organization cultivating youth voice and power at the Youth Power Partner Awards in 2024
$80,000 in scholarships awarded through our peer mentorship programs, supporting immigrant youth in achieving education and career goals
