Honoring Fay Cokeley: Pink the Rink for a Cause

This summer, the Ithaca Boys Hockey Family mourned the loss of one of its most devoted members, Fay Cokeley, beloved mother of former player Jack Cokeley. For over twelve years, Fay was an important part of the hockey community — a tireless supporter, organizer, and ever-present “hockey mom” who never missed a game. Her dedication reached its peak during Jack’s four years on the Ithaca High School varsity team, where her passion left a lasting impact on players, families, and coaches alike.

To honor Fay’s memory and her unwavering commitment to the team, we are proud to announce the launch of an annual Pink the Rink Game. This special event will raise funds for both local and national cancer organizations — a cause close to our hearts.

Initial proceeds will help purchase custom pink jerseys and socks, which will be worn each year as a symbol of remembrance and hope. All remaining funds will be donated to the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes, Hospicare, and The American Cancer Society supporting critical services and research in the fight against cancer.

Fay’s legacy lives on in the spirit of this team and the community she helped build. We invite you to join us in celebrating her life and making a difference.
