Today on Giving Tuesday we launch our campaign to match $200,000 which can become available when we identify a new property. Funds may be used for site assessments and costs to acquire the property; as well as immediate infrastructure items such as solar retrofitting our power sources, winterizing our farmworker's housing etc.
We need sovereign land in order to model how to live in harmony with the land and with each other. As we model living in harmony with the land, people will have a viable alternative to stockpiling guns and hoarding dried food. We want to share this Truth with our national network which includes 300 resilience leaders from 30 communities so that All may thrive during our climate crises.
While we wait for land to live on and teach resilience, we are strengthening our relationships with Gathering of Nations events. In this last year we were able to curate a Gathering of Nations camping retreat and a potluck in NYC. These were heart felt collaborations between inter- generational stakeholders and community members. We drummed, exchanged Indigenous wisdom, wisdom from high council--and shared communal food preparation, herbal preparations, and prayer. In 2024, we are planning on a spring camping retreat where we continue to practice wisdom from the Mi'kMaq lineage.
Thank you for trusting our values and supporting our mission.
