Dear Friend of Camp Taloali,
We have a big challenge at our camp and we need your help to make Camp Taloali a place for everyone! Our sleeping accommodations are currently metal bunk beds for up to 200 lbs altogether. Adults and bigger folks need beds that are sturdy, safe and comfortable. Camp Taloali should be for everyone, but if people can't sleep comfortably, they can't really enjoy it.
We want to build 48 new bunk beds that are strong and can fit people of all sizes. This is a very important project and we need your help to make it happen by the end of May 2024.
We've figured out the total cost, and it's around $12,000 to purchase wood and materials for strong beds. If we can't raise this money, we will have to limit the number of campers we can invite. Fewer campers would mean less money for all the fun activities we usually have at camp. Plus, we really want to ensure our Summer Camp is awesome for kids who are Deaf, Deaf Disabled, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing and Children of Deaf Adults (CODA)who join our Summer Camp Program.
Our amazing Deaf team has already made one bed to model what we're planning. We're sending you a picture so you can see how cool and comfy these beds will be. This bunk bed is on display here at Camp Taloali.
When you donate either materials or funds to help us build the beds, you're doing something wonderful for our community of annual renters, Deaf, Deaf Disabled, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing and Children of Deaf Adults (CODA). We'll tell you exactly how we'll use every dollar and when the beds will be ready for sleeping.
With your help, Camp Taloali will be an amazing place to visit for many years.
We hope you'll consider helping us reach this goal.
