Fight Food Waste. Turn Hunger into Hope.

Why Donate Food?

Because, in 2023, 1 out of every 7 households in the U.S., or 18 million families, faced food insecurity. (Source: USDA) At the same time, more than 27% of surplus food is thrown away (Source: ReFED). Remember, behind these numbers are parents skipping meals, seniors choosing between groceries and medicine, and children going to bed hungry, hence the urgent need for solutions. FoodRecovery.org is working to fight this urgent hunger crisis by redirecting surplus food into the hands of families in need.

Why Donate Money?

Your financial support has empowered FoodRecovery.org to recover over 54 million pounds of food and supplies nationwide so far in 2025. Last year, over 81 million pounds were recovered, providing an estimated 67.5 million meals to families in need. Based on our operating budget for 2024, 1 dollar spent at FoodRecovery.org translates to 66 pounds of food donated.

FoodRecovery.org combats hunger and food waste by leveraging innovative technology and strong community partnerships to reroute surplus food to those who need it most. With over a decade of experience, FoodRecovery.org has become a leader in efficient food recovery and equitable redistribution.

We pride ourselves on our ability to move large donations nationwide in record time, recover and redistribute surplus products at scale, and provide fresh, refrigerated produce that is healthier for people and better for the planet. Rooted in sustainability and innovation, we believe no nutritious meal should go to waste when neighbors are in need.

Our vision is to create a world where excess food reaches communities experiencing food insecurity: one meal, one partnership at a time, while reducing landfill waste and protecting the planet.

Help us end hunger now, and food waste too!
