Join us as we talk with a tax credit consultant and energy rater to learn more about this program and get your questions answered. He has helped clients pursue and maximize various Green Building Tax Incentives by performing the necessary energy simulation modeling using various software packages that have been approved by the IRS and Department of Energy. His understanding of various energy standards and codes such as ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, Title 24, and energy efficiency programs like Energy Star, ZERH, and EPA’s Indoor AirPLUS allow him to properly identify all opportunities for Green Building Tax Incentives. Over the past several years, he has collaborated with architects, builders, and engineers to provide lighting, insulation, fenestration, and mechanical recommendations to achieve energy compliance. Additionally, he has trained and advised numerous energy consultants throughout the country and has prior experience as an energy consultant and lighting auditor. Brandon earned his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Energy Management & Design from Sonoma State University. He is also a member of the Real Estate Roundtable Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee (SPAC). Lessons Learned  Understanding the financial incentives of the 45L program can improve the overall health of homes and residential buildings by promoting energy efficiency and sustainability. Analyzing the requirements and benefits of the 45L program can enhance the safety and livability of housing units through energy-efficient design and construction practices. Introducing the 45L program can articulate the importance of promoting welfare and environmental sustainability by incentivizing the construction of decarbonized living units. Articulating the benefits of the 45L program can emphasize its positive impact on the welfare of homeowners, as well as its contribution to creating more sustainable and resilient communities.
