Birth in Color Initiative & Sprouted Bean Wellness Project
The Birth in Color & Sprouted Bean Wellness Project is a groundbreaking effort to open Wisconsin’s first Black-owned freestanding birth center, led by CPM Sabrina Foulks-Thomas, alongside an integrative pediatric and family wellness practice. Developed through the work of Birth in Color Initiative, a nonprofit committed to reproductive justice and health equity, this project will offer culturally grounded, whole-family care—from pregnancy and birth through early childhood and beyond.
Fiscal sponsorship is proudly provided by the American Association of Birth Centers (AABC) Foundation, a national organization dedicated to promoting high-quality, evidence-based, and community-rooted birth center care. With AABC Foundation’s support, this initiative is building a sustainable model that addresses long-standing maternal and child health disparities, while expanding access to relationship-based care for families who have historically been underserved. Your support helps bring this transformative vision to life.
