Mission & Vision

St. Vincent de Paul Bremerton (est. 1937) assists and advocates for individuals and families to meet basic needs and achieve stability and self-sufficiency. We provide these services at no cost and without discrimination.

We work to affirm the dignity of every person through access to safe housing, food security, and quality services, so that every member of our community has the chance to be self-sufficient and reach their full potential.

Food Bank & Assistance Office

1137 N. Callow Ave Bremerton WA 98312. 360-377 2929 ext. 7. Open Hours: Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri - 10:30am to 2:30pm

The Assistance Office provides financial assistance and other resources to families in need such as Rental and Utility assistance programs, transportation (bus tokens), hygiene items, funeral/cremation assistance, etc. The Food Bank provides groceries to households in need. Clients do not need to bring any documentation if they do not have it; our compassionate volunteers never turn a client away for food. Monthly senior food delivery and "24-hour food packs" for clients experiencing homelessness are available. Most needed items at the Food Bank (updated April 11, 2024): Jelly & jam, peanut butter, boxed meals (e.g. Rice a Roni, Hamburger Helper etc.), macaroni and cheese, canned meals (e.g. chili, ravioli, etc.), pasta sauce, seasoning packets (e.g. chili seasoning etc.), rice, masa corn flour.

Birkenfeld-Stella Maris House

The Birkenfeld-Stella Maris House is a Women & Children's shelter located in Bremerton, Washington. The House is governed by the charitable principles of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, offering shelter, food, and a safe, supportive environment to women - and women with children - in our community experiencing severe hardship. Compassionate assistance is given at no cost and without discrimination. A full-time Case Manager assists clients in their return to independence. The Birkenfeld-Stella Maris House features 25 beds (including 2 ADA rooms), a children's play area, a garden, a comfortable living area, and a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room.

Browse our wide selection of gently used items, including clothing, jewelry, books, furniture, household goods, toys, and more. 100% of our profits fund our Food Bank, Assistance Office, and Birkenfeld-Stella Maris House for Women and Children. Low-Income clients can visit the SVdP Superstore for clothing vouchers.

Donation Drop Off Hours: Mon to Sat: 12pm-3pm / Wed: Furniture only. Please sort your donations (separate bags for clothes, shoes, etc.).
