Hello, my name is Caleb and this summer I'm going to Lutheran Summer Music (LSM) where I will be studying flute and piano.

I have been playing the flute for a little more than four years and the piccolo for a little more than two years. I have played piano for three years. I am in my school band and play in a community orchestra for kids. I've worked very hard and I'm happy to say I've made first chair in both band and orchestra. I have been in ILMEA (Illinois Music Education Association) three times which is a district band. The first year was online but the other two years were in person, and I was first chair both years. I have been in AIJB (All Illinois Junior Band) where middle schoolers from all over the state of Illinois tried out and I was really excited to make it in! Only eight flutes from all of Illinois made it into this band, and I am proud to be one of them! I hope to be in the military for band after high school and hope to make it into the "President's Own" Marine Band. I then hope to go into college for music.

I want to attend LSM because I think it will be a fun experience. I can't wait to have new experiences with my flute, make some new friends, and make some memories. I hope to become a better musician and have more experience in playing my flute, piano, and writing my own music.

LSM is a four-week program, and the cost is $2,495. Plus, I'll also have my own travel expenses. I'm raising money to help me afford this experience. Thank you for any support you can give!

Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus. Since 1981, this unique and immersive program has guided the lives of young musicians who credit LSM as the starting place for their future careers and vocations.

LSM was founded to celebrate and extend the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran church. Our founders believed that by providing high-quality training and performance opportunities to young musicians they could cultivate a lifelong love of classical and sacred music, thus preserving these art forms for generations to come.
