Then mine began the moment we were torn apart.

You came into my life when joy felt gone,

And somehow stayed, a rising sun at dawn.

Each day was brighter simply because you were near,

Your quiet presence louder than fear.

You didn’t need to steal the room or beg to be seen,

Yet your light lived in every space between.

Your sister prayed for your arrival 11 long years

Then poof on the 12 year 2 pink lines appeared.

A pray finally answered, though we still wonder how.

14 years wasn't long enough with you now dear child

Now your absence is a wound that stays wide,

A hollow place where love used to reside.

We were never prepared to say goodbye,

No mother is ready to watch her child fly.

I stood over you, my breath locked inside,

My mind refusing what my eyes could not hide.

When you are missing from every place?
