Harmony Cafe is a not-for-profit organization located in Patchogue, NY. Since 2016, we have been serving the community. Our mission is to empower our guest by providing wellness education with access to affordable healthy food, in a social engaging environment that creates healthy lives.
We host the Feast wellness program, the program provides nutrition education, recipes and cooking demonstrations, free and immediate access to fresh whole foods in every class in a safe place to explore emotional aspects of eating and receive support in a small group setting. The Feast program is taught by trained professionals. We use only whole foods in our program, plant-based foods. Harmony cafe also has a few plots at the Patchogue Community Garden, and we give what we grow to our feast students and local food pantries.
Our vision is to expand the program into a cafe setting. A cafe that will provide education that teaches healthy lifestyle skills and serves healthy meals by donation. We believe by expanding into a cafe setting, we will be able to have a greater impact in the community. A cafe will allow us to serve more healthy foods, outside of our wellness program. The cafe will serve families and individuals that are the most vulnerable and need our services the most. Such as people with chronic diseases, like diabetes, heart disease and obesity. In the United States, over half million people die each year for diet related diseases and it doesn't have to be that way.
