Our community is growing, and we need your help!

Beyond the Vale Sustainability Collective is a co-housing and farming community experimenting with earth-centered building design, gardening, permaculture and wildcrafting.

Built around a collectively-owned farm in Hurricane West Virginia, we are united in the understanding that we must make intentional choices to create the world we want to live in - to preserve biodiversity, to live cooperatively with our environment and promote kindness (and fun!).

We believe it is a moral imperative for people to have access to affordable housing, and small sustainable cooperative communities like ours are the path forward to adapting to a changing climate and economy.

Our neighbors have agreed to sell us the adjoined 24 acre property and we have a closing date! Now, we are hoping to raise additional funds to help us commission a forest management plan, buy a culvert for the new driveway, and hire assistance with building the new road.

Expanding the Vale by purchasing this property will allow us to:

Grow our forest farming operation - we will be stewarding 40+ acres!
Host additional events and retreats - we will foster our space in service to the larger community,
Create more accessible infrastructure including a road, and
Build more co-housing that is affordable and sustainable.

For these reasons, we seek to raise $10,000. This is a lot, but with your help we can do it! We are offering the following giving levels:

For $10, we'll mail a Beyond the Vale sticker to your door
For $25, we'll mail the sticker, plus a local mystery gift
For $100, we'll mail you gifts, plus you can have free camping for all of 2023
For $500, you'll sponsor one of our trees! (Plus receive the previous level gifts)
- We'll offer a selection of trees for you to choose from and we'll designate it in your honor with a sign next to the tree. You can choose to name this tree in honor of someone, or chip in as a family to make it your family tree!
