In December 2019 after a routine mammogram, I received a call from my doctor with the news no one wants to hear, I had Breast Cancer. I began my chemotherapy right as Covid was beginning to spread like wild fire, it was the scariest time of my life. After 8 rounds of chemo, I then had 30 radiation treatments. All of this while I was quarantined in my house with my husband and two daughters. Even though I was scared to death at times, my faith and the support of my family and friends helped get me through. During my treatment I received a care package from an anonymous stranger. I was touched to know that someone I didn’t even know cared enough to send me a thoughtful gift. It was from this random act of kindness that I decided that I wanted to give back and help other women who were battling Breast Cancer. It was out of this desire that I founded Bags of Hope, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to spread Love, Strength, and Hope one bag at a time. I started by delivering bags to women at our local cancer center and it soon grew to mailing bags all over the country. This year alone we’ve mailed or delivered over 1,700 bags! Thats a 60% increase from last year!! Our organization is completely dependent on donations from generous people who want to help make a difference in the lives of women who are fighting one of the toughest battles of their lives. Will you consider signing up to make a monthly donation? If not maybe a one donation? Thank you in advance!
