As a teacher for forty years, Mrs. Rye brought creativity, curiosity, and inspiration to hundreds of students and teachers. This memorial fund will continue her legacy by supporting high school students in experiential academic programs with The Field Academy.

Mrs. Rye's granddaughter, Anna Graves, is the Founder and Executive Director of this organization that works nationally to offer alternative, community-based learning for students who are failing academically and at risk of not completing high school.

Anna is the third generation of educators inspired by Mrs. Rye, which also includes granddaughter Emma Rye who took the linguist's path of teaching the English language and is now Education Director for the city of Frisco TX. Dr. Judy Rye, Mrs. Rye's daughter, homeschooled Emma and Anna for 18 years, taught adults for 14 years, and currently teaches Theatre Arts at Kenwood High School in Clarksville,TN.

Thank you for continuing her legacy of igniting curiosity and creativity in youth.
