For 18 years, Emerge has been empowering Sri Lankan girls who have survived abuse to heal, develop their self-sufficiency, and become leaders in their communities.

The girls of Emerge are breaking barriers.

They have come forward, despite all odds, to testify in court and build a better future for themselves and others. Every day, we feel fortunate to work with and learn from them. We hope you'll join us in supporting more survivors in 2024!

In 2023, we've had the privilege of supporting 305 courageous girls in developing skills to process their trauma, learn about their reproductive health and rights, and develop critical skills to navigate independent living. We've also trained 96 frontline workers in skills to support survivors of child sexual abuse, from trauma sensitive counseling to ways to support reintegration. And, as always, we've continued to serve our alumni with on-call therapy and emergency support as needed.
