Help Phil, Leslie, and Murphy rebuild after Helene

Hurricane Helene swept away the Worth family’s home in Grassy Creek, NC. Phil and their dog Murphy made it out just before the house was torn from its foundation—but Leslie had to jump out a window and was rescued from the rushing floodwaters. 

Now, thanks to the incredible generosity of their neighbors at River House Inn, Phil, Leslie, and Murphy have been given a new chance to rebuild—on land donated just up the hill from where their home once stood.

This is a true community effort:

• LGS Custom Home Builders is donating their time to construct a new two-bedroom modular home.
• Phillips Construction moved mountains—literally—to prepare the land.
• Bridge to Recovery, Jerry Wilkins Electrical, David Pence Plumbing, Peak Heating & Air, Chad Phipps, and many more have stepped up to help.

But we’re not done yet.

We still need: gravel, concrete, treated lumber, a septic system—and funding for essential building materials.
