CDVS Community Healing Library
Central Division Victim Services is building an in-office resource library for the community. This library will provide a curated collection of books that focus on trauma, root causes of violence, grief, healing, community engagement and building, survivor empowerment, and many other topics meant to offer survivors, individuals impacted by violence, their loved ones, and the greater community resources for healing, deeper reflection, education, and growth. The library will serve as a vital tool for clients on their healing journey and as a community resource to support community resilience and connection.
Our goal is to empower survivors through providing access to knowledge and support, emphasizing that books can be great healing tools! Libraries are important community spaces, providing free access to vital resources, tools, and information. By creating this resource library for survivors, we hope to highlight the importance of such spaces while also strengthening our relationships with Philadelphia's public library system and their associated social services.
Donated funds will go to stocking the library with books recommended by survivors of crime. Physical donations of new and used books are also accepted at our office. Make recommendations through this link:
