Stronger and the Storm
Stronger Than the Storm: Fundraiser for TransWaveJA
On December 7, we’re gathering at C’mon Everybody in Brooklyn for Stronger Than the Storm, a drag-show fundraiser supporting queer and trans Jamaicans who are facing urgent need after the recent devastating hurricane.
While the entire island is recovering, queer and trans people are hit hardest. Many face discrimination when trying to access shelters, aid, and emergency services—leaving them dangerously unprotected during a national crisis.
Funds raised will go to TransWaveJA, Jamaica’s leading transgender advocacy organization. TransWaveJA provides emergency housing support, access to affirming healthcare, crisis resources, and ongoing community aid—ensuring LGBTQ+ Jamaicans are not left behind in disaster recovery.
This campaign is presented in partnership with The Cypher, a registered 501(c)(3), so every donation directly supports hurricane relief and long-term support for affected LGBTQ+ individuals.
Your contribution helps provide:
-
Safe shelter and emergency essentials
-
Medical care and food security
-
Crisis support and protection for vulnerable community members
Join us in standing with Jamaica’s queer and trans community. Your support makes recovery possible—and helps ensure they remain stronger than the storm.
