The coldest month of the year is upon us. February is fast approaching, and many community members will find themselves without the proper clothing materials to keep them safe and warm. 637 of Lycoming County’s elementary-aged children are in poverty, and approximately 6,000 elementary-aged children are asset-limited, income-constrained, and employed (ALICE). Thus meaning that many of the children in our county find themselves without the basic winter weather necessities.
In hopes of preparing our county’s impoverished and ALICE elementary- aged children for the coldest month of the year, the Lycoming County United Way and Lycoming College are partnering to offer Kitz for Kidz. Kitz for Kidz will work to ensure that our county’s children enter the coldest month of the year with the necessities to keep them warm and safe during the winter season. Thus, we are committed to raise $10,000 to purchase winter coats, pants, hats gloves, and basic hygiene products such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, deodorant, etc. All funds raised will go directly to purchasing the items listed above and will be delivered to each elementary school in Lycoming County.
To support Kitz for Kidz, we are offering four different sponsorship opportunities that are listed below.
$250 - $499 – Recognition on both the United Way and Lycoming College’s social media platforms
$500 - $999 – Recognition on printed media*
$1,000- $2,000 – All of the above, and special recognition on Kitz for Kidz boxes*
