Hello sirs and ma'ams! I am very excited to be fundraising for the Jung Hwang Legacy Foundation! The amount of opportunities I have been given at Hwang's Martial Arts has been unique and has inspired a lot of my everyday life as these experiences have truly opened my eyes to the world around me. Thankfully, I have had the opportunity to compete in Taekwondo around the world, travel to different countries and experience their culture, and inspire the youth of today in countless ways, all while giving back to the community- having raised over 1 million dollars for local charities including WHAS Crusade for Children, Norton Children's Hospital, Kentucky Humane Society, Wayside Christian Mission, and more!
I have had the opportunity to travel to Chicago, Miami, Alaska, Peru, China, Korea, and more. Each time we travel Grandmaster Hwang shows us not only the place but also the culture, continuously opening our eyes to the differences from our own, which inspires the youth of today to give back to our communities and create spaces to provide opportunities for living meaningful lives.
In May of 2019, I was in the hospital for over two weeks due to an injury to my arm. Grandmaster Hwang and my Hwang's Martial Arts family frequently visited and checked up on me to support my recovery. Once I was able to be released, I went to a belt test and was asked to show my support for the SWAT team to be able to compete in Miami, FL. These trips are only possible through the team's own fundraising and it shows the tenacity of Grandmaster's "Yes I can!" attitude, which is shown through our actions, words, and thoughts.
Grandmaster Jung Oh Hwang has truly cultivated an environment to provide opportunities for individuals to live fuller, healthier, and more meaningful lives through Hwang's Martial Arts, and I know that the Jung Hwang Legacy Foundation will exceed these expectations, providing opportunities for individuals, families, and organizations around the world.
