Story
College is a time of new beginnings - often students move to a new city, live on their own for the first time, and find a whole new group of friends. Sometimes it seems like the only thing a student can rely on is change.
For college students in Omaha, the JPII Newman Center is here to provide stability and a home away from home.
For over 75 years, Catholic ministry has been alive near the campus of UNO, and never more robustly than since the construction of the JPII Newman Center in 2015. Here our students find courage like the Lion, emboldend to invite others to Christ. They are formed and smart like the Scarecrow, understanding the Bible in a more intimate way. Our students have hearts like the Tinman, giving and receiving the love of Christ.
The best part is this isn’t “somewhere over the rainbow.” It’s real and right here in the heart of Omaha, only a shuttle ride away from campus.
Your gift in support of these students helps with the expenses for the ministry and the building at the JPII Newman Center, so college students can have a similar life-changing experience for years to come.
