Jared Henry Scholarship
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jared Henry since he was 8 years old, when we first met at a Bible camp in Interior Alaska. Over the years, I’ve watched him grow from a quiet young boy into a remarkable young man—steadfast in his faith, strong in his character, and committed to serving others.
Jared is known for his integrity. When he gives his word, he keeps it. His honesty, reliability, and moral strength make him a role model to those around him. He consistently leads by example.
He is also one of the hardest-working young men I know. Whether tackling schoolwork, taking on summer jobs, or helping in the community, Jared approaches everything with excellence. He doesn’t shy away from challenges and always gives his best.
Beyond his character and work ethic, Jared has a genuine heart for people. He volunteers regularly, mentors younger kids, and looks for opportunities to serve. His compassion is matched by a deep commitment to his faith.
Jared’s desire is to pursue Biblical studies and become a pastor or minister in the local church. This calling is especially important because in over 100 years, there has not been a single seminary-trained Koyukon pastor. Many in the village are believers, but very few pastors exist to shepherd that flock. Jared wants to help change that—by growing churches, planting churches, and bringing much-needed pastoral care to villages that have gone generations without it.
Any financial help given to Jared is an investment in a young man who will make the most of every opportunity—and who is committed to pouring his life back into his people and the communities that need faithful shepherds.
