Extend the Welcome: Support Disability Inclusion in Church Life
As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, we remember the manger as a simple place where everyone was welcome. Shepherds, children, wisemen and angels all came to see the newborn Savior. The manger reminds us that God’s love is for everyone, and church is the place where all people are welcome to hear that message of God’s love.
But today, many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities still can’t fully participate in church life. Bethesda Lutheran Disability Ministries is helping to change that.
Through resources and consultations, we help churches become places where people of all abilities are not just invited but included, supported, and valued as important members of God’s family.
This Christmas, we invite you to help us extend the welcome. Your gift helps:
- Train pastors and church leaders to support people with disabilities
- Create worship, learning, and fellowship that includes everyone
- Build strong faith and community for people of all abilities
We know pastors and church workers are already carrying so much. Would you consider giving $25, $50 or $100 to help walk alongside them with tools and encouragement that make inclusion easier? With your help, all of us, with and without disabilities, can worship the newborn Christ and praise the Lord for his grace and goodness together.
