The Washington Free Public Library Foundation has been in place since 1998 and is dedicated to take library services above and beyond what our tax dollars provide.

The "Foundation" helps the library provide educational, cultural and social enrichment for all residents of Washington and surrounding areas. Some the the ways the Foundation has done this in the recent past are:

  • The MakeIT Place
  • 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program
  • Renovation of the children's book shelving
  • Art acquisitions and framing
  • Addition of several digital services : Kanopy streaming video, Mango Languages, Biblioboard, Beanstack
  • LibraryConcert series.

Our Foundation also provides funds for staff education/enrichment.

If you would like to help us meet our goals, please consider making a contribution to one of the projects at the Washington Free Public Library that are supported by the Foundation.

  • 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
  • The MakeIT Place
  • Library Concert Series
  • Library collection enhancement (Digital and Print)

If you want your donation to go to a specific project or if you'd like to make a donation as a holiday gift for a relative or friend, please indicate that in the note/comment field.

Thanks for your partnership in supporting our library!
