WHY ARE WE GATHERING:

The ongoing pandemic has taken so much from us. Whether it's our health, people we love, community, autonomy, or any semblance of hope that things will change for the better (especially for the chronically ill/vulnerable). This can bring up so much rage & grief (which is completely normal) especially as we continue to see the world try to force going back to a normal that just isn't there anymore.

This space will be specifically geared towards creating an affinity & peer support space for covid/air-borne illness cautious folks who are also transgender, nonbinary, 2Spirit, and other genderless/genderFULL folks. This space is for folks to share their feels and hopefully make some connections with others in the space for validation and solidarity. Folks can engage as much or as little as they want. Even if you want to keep your camera off and just listen, that's okay! There may be some small breakout groups, but you also don't have to engage if you'd like to just be present. More than anything, we just want folks to be in the space and have their frustrations and hurt be seen and validated.

SESSTION TOPIC

FUCK QUEER ABLEISM! It’s pride month, and with that we see an uptick of events that refuse to make themselves accessible for disabled, chronically ill, or vulnerable folks. It can be particularly painful to experience this ableism from queer community who say they are for things like abolition, disability justice, or liberation. We gather on this day to remember that pride started off as a riot against fascism, and we have every right to be pissed off that rainbow capitalism has poisoned our communities and created these devastating acts of ableism.

If you have capacity to pay on the higher end of the sliding scale, it would be appreciated because this allows us to keep our services low cost or free for marginalized folks! We appreciate you helping us to combat the violence of financial instability that capitalism causes on so many AND to stay committed to reparations, community care, and mutual aid.
