Support Access to music and visual arts for our youth!
For almost 15 year the West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts has been providing music education programs and collaborations to school in the Claremont area. During that time it has provided visiting artists, teachers, and performances in our schools, in addition to providing music education to the community as a whole. Since we were founded in 2008 a part of that mission was to make the arts accessible to ALL - including making programs almost universally free or by donation.
We are committed to continuing that mission - but with historic funding cuts for the arts, and the current Claremont School District funding crisis - we need your help to truly embody that vision. We are currently accepting donations to fund our existing programs, and we have provided designated options for those who would like to restrict their giving. All funds collected by WCCMA will allow our staff and artists to provide arts education and programs to the community. At this time the Claremont School District is arranging their own fundraising mechanism for taking fundraising, but we have programs already in progress that can help local kids immediately. Whether you want to help fund artist residencies, student scholarships, or the general youth arts programs you can commit your donation however you wish.
We are here to further support music and arts programs with the district, but while those details are being established and managed you can make an immediate difference to help fund programs that the schools in Claremont will no longer be able to pay for.
Artists in Residence for 2025/2026 (more anticipated, but these are in the works)
Jazz residency with Mohammed Abozekry (through CenterStage and the US State Department), and a special partner residency with Dartmouth College and Taylor Ho Bynum (visiting 2+ schools)
Annual Burlington Taiko Drumming residency (depending on funding, will visit between 1 and 5 schools)
Mamadou Diabate in residency for 3 months with WCCMA, depending on donations will be available for workshops and assemblies in any schools interested
Music Scholarships
Support student music lessons and workshops for families not otherwise able to pay the fees. These scholarships will help fully or partially cover lessons, ensemble participation, materials, and special program fees
Your donations support the entire music ecosystem: student, artist, local community, and families. WCCMA is a register non-profit 501c3 with nearly 2 decades of experience. All designated funding will provide direct programs by highly qualified educators and partners to our youth in the Claremont area.
